Federico Van Lacke joins as Vidorreta's assistant at Unicaja
Unicaja brings in the hispano-argentine former player as assistant coach of the first team for the 2026-27 season, according to the statement sent by the club.

Van Lacke, forty-six years old, was born in Santa Fe (Argentina) and developed much of his career as a player in Spain. Since 2002 he wore the jerseys of Cantabria Lobos, CB Murcia, Villa Los Barrios, CB Ciudad de Huelva, Coviran Granada, CB Valladolid, Joventut de Badalona, Movistar Estudiantes and Gipuzkoa Basket. He played nine seasons in the Liga Endesa, five in Primera FEB (former LEB Oro) and one in Segunda FEB (former LEB Plata). He also played with the Argentina senior national team in 2012 and 2013, and competed several seasons in the Argentine league with Boca Juniors, Obras Sanitarias and Ciclista Olímpico.
After retiring as a player in 2020, Van Lacke devoted himself to coaching and player development. He has worked as a technical development director with athletes of different categories, including Liga Endesa, Primera FEB, Segunda FEB and Liga Femenina Endesa. In recent seasons he has coached the boys' junior teams of EASO Basket, in San Sebastián. In 2024 he obtained the senior coaching qualification from the Federación Española de Baloncesto.
