The Ayuntamiento de Málaga is going to remodel La Cuesta park, located in the Pizarrillo neighbourhood, within the Churriana district. The Junta de Gobierno Local has approved including this action in the investment plan of the 2026 municipal budget, with an execution cost of 231.068,68 euros. According to the note sent by the Ayuntamiento, the proposal came from the Junta Municipal de Distrito and will be carried out through participatory budgets.

The project involves remodeling the existing court to improve its functionality, accessibility and general condition. The space will be divided into two zones: a sports zone and a children's play zone.

In the sports zone, a 3x3 football court will be installed, with goals and a perimeter enclosure one metre high (except on one of the sides), and a 3x3 basketball court, with a hoop and a three-metre-high enclosure. A multifunctional structure designed for different exercises and physical activities will also be added.

The children's zone will feature a rotating ring, a climbing net structure, swings with different types of seats and a slide with a tower and zip line. In addition, the perimeter kerb of the court will be renewed, the existing pavement will be repaired, and a continuous shock-absorbing rubber floor will be installed to reduce the risk of impact.

Policía Local positions

The Junta de Gobierno Local has also modified the terms of the call for Policía Local positions to add those corresponding to the 2025 Oferta de Empleo Público (OEP). With this change, the joint call now offers 74 positions in total: 40 from the 2023 OEP, 10 from the 2024 OEP and 24 from the 2025 OEP, divided among different access shifts.

The period for submitting applications will open once the summary of the call is published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE). Information will be available on the Ayuntamiento de Málaga website and on its electronic notice board.

Subsidies for green areas

The Ayuntamiento has also approved a new call for subsidies, funded with 700.000 euros, for the maintenance of public green areas managed by entidades urbanísticas de conservación or by communities of owners, provided they guarantee free access and have at least 1.500 square metres. Of that amount, 525.000 euros will be distributed among all applicant entities that meet the requirements, and 175.000 euros will go to neighbourhood associations and entidades urbanísticas in residential areas.

Once the call is published in the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia, there will be a period of twenty working days to submit applications through the Ayuntamiento's electronic headquarters. The grants may cover up to 90% of the project budget, with a maximum of 60.100 euros, and the activities must be carried out between the first of January and the thirty-first of December 2026, with the possibility of an extension until 30 June 2027.
