The Diputación calls for entries for the best wines with DOP from Málaga
Málaga wineries can submit their applications until September 23 through the Diputación's electronic office. The competition awards close to 30,000 euros and adds a new category this year.

Wineries in the province of Málaga can now apply to take part in the Premios a los Mejores Vinos con Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP) «Málaga» and «Sierras de Málaga», organized by the Diputación through the Sabor a Málaga brand. This is the twelfth edition of this competition.
According to the notice issued by the Diputación, the call was published on Wednesday, September 9, in the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia. Applications can be submitted from Thursday, September 10 to Wednesday, September 23, through the specific procedure of the provincial electronic office.
The competition is endowed with 29,150 euros. This year a sixth category is added to the previous five: the award for Best Dry Fortified Wine «Málaga». The full categories are as follows: White Wine «Sierras de Málaga»; Sweet Still White «Málaga»; Red «Sierras de Málaga» up to six months; Red «Sierras de Málaga» over six months; Sweet Fortified Wine «Málaga»; and Dry Fortified Wine «Málaga».
Each winning wine will receive 4,580 euros, and the jury may grant special mentions for a total of 1,670 euros. The Diputación will use that money to purchase the awarded products for use in promotional actions. In addition, the winning wineries will enter the national and international promotion and commercialization circuit of the Sabor a Málaga brand.
In the previous edition, about twenty wineries from the province took part, presenting 71 varieties of wine.
Those who wish to submit their application have until Wednesday, September 23, and must do so through the procedure enabled on the electronic office of the Diputación de Málaga.
